Award Winning Bathroom Remodel

For this bathroom remodeling project in Montgomery County, PA, our client was looking to update their dated 1980’s master bathroom into a relaxing retreat.
The Project
Our first order of business was to create a packet of drawings outlining the material selections, floor plan adjustments, and electrical and plumbing requirements which we used to get 3 competing bathroom remodeling quotes. Because most of the design work was done before bringing contractors in, our client was able to get realistic apples to apples quotes and didn’t need to rely on builder allowances for materials. This is the best way to get precise, competing, bathroom remodeling quotes to have all the information you need to make the best financial decision.
Once the work began, I was onsite to regularly meet with the contractor and go over any field issues that needed
resolution so that the client didn’t have to be involved in the minutiae of decision making that comes when materials meet other materials. Having someone to resolve these kinds of questions with your contractor takes some of the stress away during a bathroom remodeling project.
The Design
The starting point for the design was the timeless Carrara Marble tiles. Our goal was to make the beautiful marble standout as the centerpiece of this luxury bathroom. To accomplish this, we used a calm, low contrast color scheme. The shower, which doubled in size, is now a spa-like experience with the addition of the rainshower head, body sprays, and hand showers. We took full advantage of the high vaulted ceiling by adding a dramatic chandelier. Paint and fabrics were selected in soft blue-grey and white to create an airy and peaceful, low-contrast space that is truly award-worthy.
